The word “health care” was introduced by Dr. Henry M. Hoover, who was the director of the United States Public Health Service. He defined the term as “the process of treating and preventing illness”. Health care can be considered a discipline that is concerned with the prevention of disease and the treatment of disease. It is associated with the principles of prevention through education, prevention through care, and cure through rehabilitation.
This concept of prevention through education is considered to be the most important aspect of health care. Health care is an interdisciplinary field that comprises the various health disciplines, including psychology, pharmacology, family practice, medical social work and public health. Health care providers usually specialize in particular areas of health. A health care worker is responsible for the overall management of a patient’s health. Health care workers are also referred to as health practitioners. Health care is defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Health care includes providing health services for a patient at home, to a skilled nursing facility (SNC), and in an institutional setting, such as a hospital. A health practitioner can treat patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents and adults. However, there are some exceptions, such as newborns or premature babies that need special care.
Health insurance refers to insurance or health plans provided to individuals to cover the costs of services rendered in the event of an accident or illness. and is usually purchased by employers. This type of insurance is not the same as health insurance, which is purchased by an individual for his own personal use. Health insurance pays the cost of routine health services, while health insurance pays for those services rendered in the case of a medical emergency.
