Health is an objective state of mind and physical, emotional and social well being where infirmity and disease are absent. It refers to the condition of being fit and healthy. The four cardinal health indicators are physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.

The first step to having good health is to recognize and appreciate the importance of maintaining and building up your physical health. An objective assessment should be done in order to determine what your strengths and weaknesses are and what activities are important to you. The next step in building up your physical well-being is to identify and treat those aspects that are limiting and that you need to improve upon. Taking care of your mental and emotional well-being will make up for your deficiencies in physical health.

If you do not maintain good health you will get sick. The longer you go without adequate nutrition or other appropriate medical treatment the more likely you are to become ill. Many people do not realize that they are not getting the nutrients they need to stay healthy because they do not pay attention to how they look or how they feel. This does not mean you should ignore your appearance or your mood. You just need to recognize what’s important to you and what affects you. Do not let this leave you with a lack of self-esteem because you do not have what you think is important or even what is important to others.

Once you have made positive changes to your appearance and to your attitude you will be well on your way towards your mental health. One of the most significant ways to improve your mental health is through diet and exercise. If you are eating healthy foods you can be less likely to get ill and that means that you will be more likely to live a healthy life.

Exercise is essential to the improvement of your mental health. There is much evidence that shows that regular physical activity is very beneficial to the brain. When you exercise, you help to improve your overall health and the functioning of every part of your body including your brain.

Living a long and productive life does not mean living with poor health. With proper attention to your health, you can experience a new level of happiness and fulfillment in life. Be sure to take your time when trying to decide what kind of health you want.
